Why not start off with the easy stuff? In this post I’m going to share my favorite brands and snacks that I buy on Amazon. Bonus: if you click the link through my blog, I’ll get some money from Amazon.
Over the years I’ve accumulated a lot of lifestyle and food hacks. Now it’s time to share that with you.
1. Fat Snax! Cookies
These cookies have been on my must list for the past 3+ years. I took a look in my Amazon history and I first purchased these back in September 2020. I’ve tried every flavor and variety they’ve had over the years (I think right now they only have Chocolate Chip & Double Chocolate Chip) and enjoyed every one.
Why you’ll like them: they are a soft-baked cookie from an almond flour base. This gives the cookies a nice nutty base that is well complimented by the chocolate flavor. They don’t have a ton of sugar alcohol and also pack a nice amount of fiber. I generally eat a set of 2 (1 pack) for breakfast.
2. Catalina Crunch: Spicy Kick Crunch Mix
Catalina Crunch is a brand I’ve discovered more recently. They offer a variety of low carb options (predominantly cereal) that tend to have a chickpea flour base. This mix features the same cereal squares they use in their cereal, but with other mix-ins like cashews, cheddar cheese crisps, and pretzels.
Why you’ll like it: definitely has a spicy kick. I love spicy food because it naturally slows down how fast you can eat and makes you sweat 🥵. It is 120 calories for an ounce, realistically I serve myself 2 ounces, which fills up a nice snack boat quite well. Any more than that would be torture for my taste buds!
3. Kiss My Keto Sour Bears
Okay – I swear I’m done saying “I just discovered this recently,” but I did. Gummy candy has been one of the last food items on my list that I’ve been interested in finding keto alternatives for. (Previously most of my time involved chocolate or ice cream or chocolate ice cream) These are delightful candies that are very low in calories (40 per bag!) and high in fiber. The high fiber content makes it such that you won’t WANT to eat another bag.
Why you’ll like it: super pucker inducing sour with nice fruity flavors underneath. This gummy base is chewier than normal gummy candies, so it’ll take some time to get used to, but you’ll be savoring the sour flavor along the way.
Am I crazy, these are expensive! Yes, they are very expensive. However I often find they have a coupon for about $10 off and they are absolutely worth it. I snuck these into a showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and felt exactly like a kid getting whatever they want from concessions.
4. Rip Van Leo’s Mint Sandwich Cookies
If you’re looking for something that tastes like an Oreo and Thin Mint mash up, this sandwich cookie is the one. Rip Van is a very interesting company, they highlight their European roots (Dutch in particular) and market themselves as a less sugar alternative vs. heavy on the keto angle. They have a variety of products, but to me these sandwich cookies are hands down the best.
Why you’ll like them: eating 4 cookies is 200 calories and half your daily fiber recommendation. The sandwich cookie has a classis Oreo texture, meaning it’s pretty crunchy and sandy. The cookie also holds the majority of both the chocolate and mint flavor. The cream is very understated and not overly sweet, there’s also just the right amount.
5. ChocZero Chocolate
My last recommendation, oldest brand I’ve followed, and the biggest takeaway from this blog: ChocZero chocolate. I found ChocZero way back when I was trying to have true chocolate alternatives that weren’t weighed down by sugar alcohol. That led me to their chocolate squares and the company has taken off since then. I stock nearly every product type (syrup, bark, square, marshmallows, sauce) in my pantry and think they consistently nail their new products. As a link I’ve chosen a favorite of mine, their Cookies & Cream Keto Bark.
Why you’ll become obsessed: You’ll love the Cookies & Cream Keto Bark if you’re looking for something reminiscent of a Hershey’s Cookies & Cream bar. ChocZero has very decadent and floral white chocolate (which can be polarizing for some) which is complimented perfectly with the cookie bites.
